Rally for the Climate

People around the world rose up to “Rally for Climate, Jobs and Justice” on a day of global action sponsored by 350.org. The BBC reported that more than 900 events were staged in 95 countries as people called for an end to fossil fuels and a shift to renewable energy. Here in the Northshire, Earth Matters, Move On Manchester and the Northshire Bookstore co-hosted a sign-making party, march through downtown, and rally at the roundabout, followed by free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and speakers. I spoke about my commitment to climate action and the opportunities that the climate economy offers Vermont, followed by a keynote address by Dr. Edward Cameron, one of the authors of the Paris Climate Accords.
