GOT IT!
Bennington County has only 6 percent of Vermont’s population. We are remote from Montpelier and the centers of political power. If our needs are to be heard, we need an effective legislative delegation that works closely together and is respected in the statehouse. With Dick Sears and Brian Campion we have an outsize presence in the Senate. They are on key committees and they make sure we are not left out.
The towns of Arlington, Manchester, Sandgate and Sunderland have the opportunity for that kind of effectiveness in the House of Representatives by electing Kathleen James and Seth Bongartz. We need our voice front and center now more than ever. The economy has taken a huge hit from the pandemic and the state budget is going to be very, very tight. We cannot allow ourselves to be left out of the discussion
We need funding for our local economic development efforts so they can continue to help our small businesses recover from the impacts of the COVID virus; we need affordable, quality childcare so parents can support their families and children can learn essential skills early; we need workforce housing so people can both work and live in our communities; and we need broadband everywhere. The platform Kathleen and Seth have published on their websites make clear they fully understand the challenges that lie ahead. Their track records tell us they are ready to take on those tests.
Kathleen and Seth – thank you for your years of hard work. You have our support. We hope all will join us in giving you our votes between now and Nov. 3.
